BSAN HISTORY

Joe Marks began the meeting giving a detailed outline of BSAN: how the coalition formed, why, and our mission and hope for the future. Mr. Marks spoke about doctors and law enforcement becoming aware of the substance use issues in Burke county, funding, Grant dollars, United Way, the RxEAP Task Force, parents, Rally for Recovery, and the Youth Coalition.  This led into a working meeting—the first meeting to usher in BSAN’s first Steering Committee. We broke into sectors that represent the various foundational branches of our community (i.e. recovery allies; mental health; prevention; schools, etc.).
